Domaine Dereskos
Domaine Dereskos was founded in municipality of Messinia Gargaliani since 1994. The place is near by the historical Pylos town in southwest Peloponnese. The family vineyards are a part of southwest zone of Messinia, a traditional wine cultivation zone. Domaine Dereskos is highlighting to the special characteristics of the vines into this zone, in order to produce quality regional wines (vin de pays). We sell our products at key point cellars and branded restaurants and hotels all over Greece. A significant proportion of the wine production is exported to European countries such us Belgium, Germany and countries elsewhere like USA.
VINEYARDS
The family’s 100 acres multivariate vineyards are situated in the Agrilia site. Our vineyards in cooperation, where Cabernet, Chardonnay and Merlot have been transplanted and grown with great success, are located in the same area. The territory’s semimountaneous morphology of 350m height, with its minor or major slopes, confirms once more the traditional rule that places the Greek vineyards on the mountain slops. This is the famous beneficial influence of the altitude in the vine grapes. In order to vintage grapes which will produce wines of supreme quality, we choose the modern linear set of roots under vertical growth. Our vineyard varieties are the French Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Grenache Rouge, Chardonnay and three Greek varieties, Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko and Roditis. Approximate crope per acre is 900-1000 Kg.
